Sustainability at Logco
As a UK manufacturer we are aware of our effect on the environment and we are working hard to reduce our impact. We have implemented several initiatives to promote sustainability and align with the Sustainable Development Goals. Our commitment includes reducing waste through innovative recycling programs, utilising energy-efficient technologies in our manufacturing processes, and sourcing raw materials responsibly.
Our commitment to sustainability also extends beyond our factory gates. We engage with suppliers, partners and customers to promote responsible practices throughout our supply chain. By working collaboratively, we aim to raise standards, share knowledge and support continual improvement across the industries we serve.
By measuring our environmental footprint and improving efficiency in energy, resources and waste management, we aim to reduce our impact while continuing to deliver high quality products to our customers.
Our Progress
There are 17 SDGs and whilst they are all important and interrelated, the below are the key priorities for our business.
As a manufacturer we prioritise continuous innovation. We invest in formulation development to enhance performance while reducing environmental risk. One example of this is our new Biolease Premium, an environmentally friendly product produced with sustainable sourced raw materials. In addition we highlight in our marketing collatoral which products are eco friendly.
Operating within West Yorkshire we recognise our need to work within the industrial ecosystem to effectively manage our materials and waste responsibly. Our waste management policy ensures that no waste is sent to landfill and we are disposed through open or closed loops. The tried and tested products we supply ensure quality construction projects throughout communities.
Responsible production is at the core of our sustainability approach. We focus on the efficient use of sustainable sourced raw materials, waste reduction, increased recyling and safe handling. By improving product durability and offering guidance on correct use and disposal we encourage our customers to reduce consumption, extend product life and minimise environmental impact.
We are committed to understanding and reducing our contribution to climate change. We monitor our energy use and continually review opportunities to reduce emissions across our operations. We already have electric forklifts, motion sensor lighting and electric charge points in place. In 2024 we began measuring our carbon emissions.
Steps for the Future
As we move forward we are measuring our carbon emissions on an annual basis to track our progress and identify areas that require our attention. While also prioritising eco-friendly products, we are committed to creating formulas made from sustainably sourced raw materials.
We are committed to continued excellence in all our endeavours, having dedicated considerable time and resources to meet ISO standards that embody this commitment. We take pride in maintaining our accreditations for ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and ISO 45001:2018 from TUV Nord.
